Mr. Tillard has over 22 years experience in the role of a Senior Project Manager with experience in all aspects of project delivery including design/build projects. His focus has been on delivering projects that meet the client’s operational needs, are on time and on schedule while achieving quality and safety targets.

Most of his projects have been multi-discipline in nature and have involved a broad range of consulting activities including strategic planning, facility planning, design, business case analysis, construction, and operations hand-over. He has significantly contributed to the strategic direction and technical leadership for the Eastern Canada operations of a major engineering and construction firm.

Mr. Twohig is a founding Director of Barrington Wind Energy Limited. Mr. Twohig is formerly the President of GS Concrete, a pre-cast concrete producer serving the markets of Atlantic Canada and New England. Mr. Twohig is a founding member and past-Chair of the Renewable Energy Industries Association of Nova Scotia, and was a member of the Electricity Marketplace Governance Committee.

A past Chairman of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia, past Director of the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association and the National Precast Concrete Association, Mr. Twohig brings specific abilities in consensus building, management structures, regulatory and policy analysis, and project coordination. Formerly a director and chief executive with Renewable Energy Services Ltd., Mr. Twohig has been working on wind power development since 2001.

Non-working times are spent in musical ventures, such as the Chester Brass Band, Chebucto Orchestra, Bedford Singers, and volunteering as a mediator with the Valley Restorative Justice.

Jim Meredith, VP Finance

Jim has over 15 years of accounting and finance experience, both in public practice (obtained CA designation in 1990) and in private industry as a Controller and CFO for privately held companies and as Finance Manager in a medium sized public company.

He also obtained a MBA degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2000. He has been involved in the due diligence and completion of acquisitions which resulted in the doubling of a company’s size. Most recently, he has spent five years managing approximately $300M in cash and $800M in debt in the Treasury department of a public company.

Ian Baines is an Ontario-based Consulting Engineer and developer who has been responsible for the origination, financing, design and construction of nine non-utility power plants in Ontario.

As founder of Canadian Renewable Energy Corporation he brought Calgary-based investment funds as well as Calgary renewable energy developers in to the province. This culminated in the construction of one hydro and one wind project within the past three years. He was responsible for the concept and development of the 200 MW Wolfe Island Wind project which is currently under development.
Mr. Baines also serves as Chairman of the Ontario Waterpower Association.

Susan Marsh, Administration

Ms. Marsh had over 30 years experience in administration and communication. She spent 14 years with Canadian Pacific Hotels, in accounting and operations. In addition to Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees from Dalhousie University, she also has a degree in Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University.

Susan joined BWEL when it was founded in 2003 and prior to that spent three years in Nova Scotia's renewable energy sector. From 1992 to 2000 she focused on communication and public relations in the cultural and entertainment industries, including seven years as Executive Director of The Nova Scotia Choral Federation. She has served on several not-for-profits Boards and has taken an active part in the building of several cultural organization and entertainment companies. Susan also works with the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia as Office Manager.
